Medical Disclaimer

Mommity shares general information about pregnancy, birth and the weeks after. It is written to help you understand what is happening and to recognise when to seek care. It is not a diagnosis, and it is not a substitute for a nurse, a midwife or a doctor who has examined you.

In an emergency

If you are pregnant or have recently given birth and you have heavy bleeding, a severe headache with blurred vision, fits, a high fever, severe pain in your belly, difficulty breathing, or your baby has stopped moving — go to the nearest health facility immediately. Do not wait to read more, and do not wait for a reply from us.

Not medical advice

Nothing on this website or in the Mommity app creates a relationship between you and a health professional. The guidance cannot take account of your medical history, your test results or how this pregnancy is going. Only someone who is caring for you can do that.

Never ignore advice from your health worker, or delay getting care, because of something you read here.

Antenatal visits still matter

Mommity is a companion between visits, not a replacement for them. Checks done at an antenatal clinic — blood pressure, blood and urine tests, the baby's growth and position — cannot be done by an app. Please attend every visit you are able to reach.

Accuracy

We take care over what we publish and review it as guidance changes. Medicine moves on and mistakes are possible. If you believe something here is wrong or out of date, please tell us.

Limitation

To the fullest extent the law permits, Mommity accepts no liability for loss or harm arising from reliance on general information published on this website.
